It’s easy to assume all supplements marketed for fertility (or even just generic multivitamins) do roughly the same thing.
A quick glance at the label can look reassuring on the surface, but not all supplements are created equal. Ingredient type, dose level and how nutrients work together all influence whether they’ll make a real difference, or just end up burning a hole in your pocket!
A top name on the shelves at the moment is Proceive®, one of the UK and Ireland’s fastest growing fertility supplement brands.
We spoke to Suzanne Acton, Head of Brand at Proceive, to dig into down what actually matters in a fertility supplement, from ingredient quality to how much, plus timelines and the difference between Proceive Women and Proceive Max Women.

Q: Starting strong, why isn’t a generic multivitamin enough when you’re trying to conceive?
When you’re trying to conceive, your nutritional needs are very different from those covered by a standard multivitamin.
Generic multivitamins are designed to meet average population requirements, not the increased nutritional demands involved in ovulation, egg development, hormone regulation and early embryonic development.
Fertility depends on multiple biological systems working well together — from hormone signalling and energy production to circulation and cell development. A generic multivitamin isn’t developed with these processes in mind.
As fertility dietitian Jess Willow explains: “Fertility is nutritionally complex. It relies on multiple nutrients working together at the right levels, in forms the body can absorb and use efficiently”.
Many standard supplements are low-dose, use less bioavailable forms (such as folic acid rather than L-methylfolate, which is included in the full Proceive range), or focus on pregnancy rather than the preconception window where egg and sperm quality are still being influenced.
Each formulation from Proceive is developed in collaboration with nutrition and fertility experts, with every nutrient and inclusion level selected based on established scientific research and its role in supporting specific fertility processes.
Q: What are the key Proceive ingredients, starting with Proceive Women?
Proceive Women is designed for women under the age of 35 who are preparing for pregnancy or in the earlier stages of trying to conceive. It provides broad nutritional coverage to support overall reproductive health.
Key ingredients include:
- L-methylfolate – supports DNA synthesis and early cell division
- Iron – supports oxygen transport
- Iodine – for healthy thyroid function
- Vitamin D – supports the immune system
- Vitamin B6 – for hormonal regulation
- Zinc – supports reproductive health
- B-vitamins – support energy metabolism and hormonal pathways
These nutrients are selected to work together, supporting hormonal balance, cellular energy and the nutritional foundations that underpin ovulation and early development.
Q: How does Proceive Max Women differ from Proceive Women?
Proceive Max Women builds on the foundation of Proceive Women, with higher and more targeted dose levels informed by fertility-specific research.
This is often where questions around the Proceive Max Women Ingredients come in. And the difference lies in both the formulation, and the dose.
As your fertility journey evolves, particularly with age or longer timelines, your body may benefit from more targeted nutritional support.
Proceive Max Women is designed with this in mind, supporting reproductive energy, egg quality and cellular protection.
It includes:
- increased levels of key micronutrients linked to egg quality and cellular energy
- higher CoQ10 to support mitochondrial function
- the addition of choline, a nutrient with growing importance in preconception and early pregnancy nutrition

Q: Diving deeper, why does ingredient amount matter just as much as the ingredients themselves?
Ingredients need to be present at nutritionally meaningful levels to make a difference. Many fertility-related nutrients show benefits at intakes higher than standard recommended Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs), within safe and evidence-based limits.
Looking at an ingredient list alone doesn’t give the full picture. The effectiveness of a supplement depends on whether those nutrients are included at levels shown to support fertility-related processes.
Proceive formulations focus on active nutrients without unnecessary fillers, binders or preservatives. This approach keeps formulations clear, considered and transparent.
Q: How do we take Proceive women?
Proceive Women is taken daily, ideally at the same time each day, to support consistent nutrient availability. Nutritional support for fertility builds over time, so consistency plays an important role.
Each dose is two capsules, providing 1,040mg of 28 carefully selected amino acids, vitamins and minerals, including 400µg of folic acid in the L-methylfolate form. Each ingredient is delivered at an optimal strength in a highly absorbable form.
Q: How should we take Proceive Max Women?
Proceive Max Women is also taken daily but delivers higher‑strength nutrition in a single, all‑in‑one formulation. It contains the highest level of nutritional support in the Proceive range with 3,237mg of 33 carefully selected amino acids, vitamins, and minerals including L-Methylfolate, Inositol and Choline.
Each ingredient is delivered at the optimal strength in a highly absorbable form, and because of this, it is served in a single dose sachet to ensure we can fit all of the ingredients at their optimum dosage. This can be mixed into a drink, smoothie, or yogurt.
Q: Is Proceive Max worth it, and would we ever need to consider switching up from Proceive Women?
These two products are different as they are tailored for different audiences, so it isn’t really so much about switching as it is about what your situation is.
- Proceive Women is for those under 35 and have no known fertility conditions. This is your starting point for when TTC under this age.
- Proceive Max Women is designed for women over 35, or who have been trying to conceive for 12 months or over.
It’s also worth mentioning that we recommend Proceive Max Women for those starting fertility treatments. We’re proud to be named #1 fertility supplement by IVF Clinics in Ireland, where the brand started 9 years ago!
Q: How long does Proceive take to work?
Nutrition supports fertility gradually – and we always say it takes at least 12 months to make a baby. This is because egg and sperm development takes around three months before conception even takes place – so we advise you take Proceive consistently for at least 3 months.
What Proceive supports are the underlying biological processes that influence fertility over time, rather than immediate outcomes. In independent Trustpilot reviews, some customers mention personal experiences relating to energy levels, cycle regularity and confidence while taking Proceive. Fertility nutrition is about long-term support rather than immediate results.

Q: What lifestyle habits can support how well Proceive works?
We work very closely with specialty fertility nutritionists who would always advocate that supplements support, not replace, healthy foundations.
Key lifestyle factors include:
- Eating a balanced diet with adequate protein, healthy fats and micronutrients
- Managing stress and prioritising sleep
- Maintaining a healthy BMI where possible
- Reducing smoking and excessive alcohol intake
Proceive is designed to complement these habits, not override them. I always like to say that taking Proceive is a belt and braces approach to conception nutrition!
Modern lifestyles can place extra strain on the systems involved in fertility. Stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, dieting and poor nutrition all impact the body’s ability to absorb the nutrition needed to optimize reproductive health – so Proceive is designed to give it a helping hand.
Q: Finally, what do people often get wrong about fertility supplements like Proceive?
One of the biggest misconceptions is that fertility supplements provide a quick fix. Here at Proceive, we’re incredibly careful not to over promise or guarantee a fertility journey – there are so many variables when it comes to conception. We always make it clear that supplements support biological processes rather than override them.
Fertility is complex, and our formulations respect that complexity. All of Proceive’s formulations are carefully created with the most bio-available ingredients, and designed to support fertility by working with the body’s natural systems, as part of a broader, informed approach to the TTC journey.

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
